After working out from the age of 16, the 5ft 2in bodybuilding obsessive was open with his family about taking anabolic steroids because he wanted to change his body image.
Oli Cooney, 20, was a fitness fanatic and bodybuilding obsessive who used anabolic steroids for years. Despite suffering two heart attacks and three strokes, Cooney continually ignored advice from those around him to stop exercising.
But he soon developed a bodybuilding obsession which led to him taking dangerous anabolic steroids to beef up his appearance further. The misuse of the class C drugs led to him having a heart attack and three strokes and he was killed by a second heart attack at the age of 20 in September 2013.
By the age of 16, Oli Cooney had begun his grueling workout regimens. By the age of 18, he was warned by doctors to slow his weightlifting regimen. And by 20, after just four years within the bodybuilding arena, Cooney was dead. Cooney was very open about his anabolic steroid use, even after he was diagnosed with chronic heart damage and chest pains.

The bodybuilder suffered multiple heart attacks and strokes by the time he was 20 years of age. He did not live to see his 21st birthday. The 5-foot, 2-inch bodybuilder started lifting weights at the age of sixteen due to his dissatisfaction with his body image.
Despite having two heart attacks and three strokes, he responded well to physiotherapy, and returned to working out three to four times a week, against doctors’ advice.
